AMMWEC Hosts Historic National Coalition Conference Against Antisemitism in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Monday, July 13, 2026, was remembered by participants as a historic day in the nation’s continuing efforts to combat antisemitism and promote interfaith unity. More than 70 Muslim leaders from across the United States gathered in Washington, D.C., under the leadership of Anila Ali, founder of the American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC), and delivered a clear and united message:

“Antisemitism has no place in our country.”

The gathering reflected a shared commitment among faith leaders and community organizations to stand together against hatred, religious intolerance, and extremism while strengthening relationships between America’s diverse religious communities.

The conference began with interfaith prayers led by Pastor Leon Benjamin, Sheikh Musa Drammeh, and Rabbi Alex Harris, setting a tone of mutual respect and cooperation. Jewish leaders from across the country joined the event, including representatives of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), represented by Jackie Subar, as well as Hadassah, community leader Andrew Zeidman, and several prominent rabbis. They expressed their gratitude to their Muslim brothers and sisters for taking a public stand against antisemitism and for their commitment to building lasting partnerships.

The American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMMWEC) successfully hosted its National Coalition Conference on Antisemitism & Hate at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The conference brought together a broad coalition of religious, civic, educational, and human rights organizations to strengthen cooperation in combating antisemitism, religious intolerance, discrimination, and all forms of hate.

The event served as a platform for Muslim, Jewish, Christian, and other faith and community leaders, who reaffirmed their shared commitment to promoting mutual respect, interfaith dialogue, peace, and social harmony. Speakers emphasized that confronting hatred and extremism required collective action, education, and stronger partnerships among diverse communities.

Throughout the conference, participants discussed practical strategies for addressing antisemitism, religious hatred, racism, misinformation, and extremism while encouraging stronger interfaith cooperation and community engagement. They also highlighted the importance of protecting religious freedom, defending human dignity, and fostering peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths and backgrounds.

AMMWEC leadership thanked all coalition partners for their participation and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to expanding its national coalition by welcoming additional institutions dedicated to combating hate and strengthening relationships across communities.

The conference concluded with a renewed pledge from participating organizations to continue working together through education, advocacy, and dialogue to build a more inclusive, respectful, and peaceful society. Organizers also invited additional organizations to join the growing coalition and support future initiatives that promote unity, mutual understanding, and lasting cooperation.
