Inna Vernikov Reviews Innovative Holocaust Education Program with The Blue Card

New York, NY – Representatives from The Blue Card, an organization dedicated to assisting Holocaust survivors, shared their new Hologram Education Program with Councilwoman Vernikov in hopes of promoting Holocaust Education in New York City public schools.

For decades, Sonia Warshawski has recounted memories of her life in the concentration camps and the Międzyrzec ghetto, drawing audiences from a wide array of backgrounds. Now, her story is told through a portable, interactive hologram developed with Blue Card’s groundbreaking Holobox technology.

The hologram allows viewers to speak with ‘Sonia’ in real time, bringing her experience to life. Operating on non-generative AI, ‘Sonia’ delivers responses that showcase her authentic experience and personality. This personalized approach is more than just a supplement to history lectures; it offers students a powerful lesson on compassion and empathy. The program is best-suited for middle and high school students.

“I am grateful to the Blue Card for sharing their wonderful innovation, and I call on our public school administrators, teachers, and all those with a foothold in education to implement Blue Card’s interactive Holocaust Hologram Education Program in school curricula to educate our future generations about the atrocities of the Holocaust,” said Councilwoman Inna Vernikov.

Recently celebrating her 100th birthday, Sonia is one of the increasingly few living Holocaust survivors. The Hologram Education Program is a truly brilliant solution that preserves survivors’ stories for generations to come.

“We are truly thankful to Councilmember Vernikov for her continuous support of The Blue Card. Using non-generative AI for Holocaust education is what we will do to ensure the stories and lessons of the Holocaust are told across New York City and beyond,” said Georgi Goldman, the Education and Outreach Coordinator at Blue Card.
