Field Marshal Munir engages Iran’s top civil and military leadership in Tehran

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during his official visit to Iran, according to media reports.

The engagement was attended by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

In a separate interaction, Munir also met Major General Ali Abdollahi, who heads Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters. The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional security dynamics.

During the meeting, the Iranian commander acknowledged Pakistan’s position during the recent period of tensions and expressed appreciation for its support.

He also pointed to Iran’s reliance on domestically developed military capabilities during the conflict, attributing these to local expertise.

Abdollahi further indicated that Iran’s armed forces remain on alert and prepared to respond to any potential escalation.
