History Made in New York as 50 Ethnic Chambers Unite at “Cinco de Mayo” Celebration, Community Leaders Honored

A historic gathering promoting unity, business growth, and cultural harmony among diverse ethnic communities was successfully held in New York during the “Cinco de Mayo Celebration & Community Leadership Awards Ceremony” at Yonkers Brewing Company in Yonkers, where nearly 50 ethnic chambers of commerce and community organizations united on one platform for the first time.
The grand event was organized jointly by the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce and the NYC Hispanic Buying Club with the aim of strengthening cooperation among multicultural business communities, increasing representation for minority groups, and creating new opportunities for shared economic growth and collaboration.

The evening began with a networking session at 5:30 PM, where guests enjoyed an open bar and hors d’oeuvres before the formal program and Community Leadership Awards Ceremony commenced. The event attracted prominent personalities, business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community representatives from various backgrounds.
Held at Yonkers Brewing Company, located at 92 Main Street, Yonkers, New York, the celebration showcased a remarkable display of unity and solidarity among New York’s multicultural and ethnic communities.

During the ceremony, Dilip Chauhan, Deputy Chief Business Diversity Officer and Senior Advisor for MWBE Business Opportunities at the New York City Mayor’s Office of M/WBEs, received a special recognition award for his outstanding contributions toward diversity, inclusion, and the advancement of minority-owned and multicultural businesses.
The cultural segment of the evening added vibrant energy to the celebration as renowned Mariachi performer Reyes Sunshine delivered a lively performance, while music, food, and multicultural festivities made the occasion memorable for attendees.

Organizers described the gathering as a “historic moment,” stating that the unification of dozens of ethnic, cultural, and business organizations on one platform would play a significant role in promoting intercultural harmony, economic development, and community collaboration in the future.
The event was supported by numerous prominent organizations, including the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, United Bodegas of America (UBA), The Black Institute, African American Chamber of Commerce, National Supermarket Association Coalition (NSAC), New York & New Jersey Minority Supplier Development Council (NY/NJ MSDC), Greater New York Nepali Chamber of Commerce, New York State Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce, and several other leading business and community organizations.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, organizers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing efforts aimed at uniting diverse communities on a common platform to further strengthen multicultural cooperation, business development, and social engagement across New York.
