The second anniversary of the martyrdom of the young Pakistani-American New York Police officer Adeed Fayyaz, who was martyred in the line of duty on the blessed day of Friday, was observed with great devotion and respect at the Ayup Sultan Mosque in Brooklyn. A large number of New York Police, city officials, community and city of state officials, including senior officers, attended the service and paid tribute to the late martyr Adeed Fayyaz.
The second annual anniversary of Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. In which Allama Turki, a religious scholar, said that Allah has commanded you to “never call the martyrs dead, rather they are alive that you do not know.” On this occasion, senior officers of the New York Police Department paid tribute to Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz and said that by sacrificing his life in the line of duty, he has made not only Pakistani Americans but also people of every religion and every school of thought living across America proud. On this occasion, Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz’s father, Sadaqat Adeed said that he sincerely thanks the New York Police Department, the Pakistani American community and the diverse community for not forgetting his son Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz and that every soldier of the New York Police Department is like his own son. He thanked the New York Police Department and the community and said that my son’s martyrdom will not be in vain.
On this occasion, senior officers of the New York Police Department paid tribute to Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz and said that due to his martyrdom, the officers of the New York Police Department and the department are proud and his legacy will be kept alive. The ceremony was attended by Detective Royal Khalid, New York Police South Chief Charisma Coy, Chief Morgan, and Assemblywoman Jennifer Rajkumar, in addition to hundreds of police officers and a large number of community members. Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz’s young sons, Iayan and Shayan, and his wife, Madiha, were also present at the ceremony, while dozens of family members also attended the second anniversary of Shaheed Adeed Fayyaz.

NYPD Police Officer Adeed Fayaz passed away on February 7, 2023 in the midst of an attempted robbery.
Fayaz was born in Islamabad, Pakistan and was raised in Queens, New York. As a child, Fayaz excelled in school and found enjoyment in cricket, boxing, handball, and swimming. He grew up in a big family where he learned to love and be loved. He and his wife, Madiha, met at a family wedding, where they shared an instant connection. The pair were later married and they brought two beautiful children into the world.
Fayaz joined the New York Police Department on October 23rd, 2017, following in the footsteps of his uncles who were also NYPD officers. He loved to work patrol, help people in need, and halt crime in the city. One of Fayaz’s greatest accomplishments throughout his time of service was passing the test to become a Sergeant. On Saturday February 4th, 2023, Fayaz set out to purchase a vehicle he had seen on Facebook marketplace. When he arrived on the scene it turned out to be a robbery where gunfire was exchanged and Fayaz was fatally shot. He succumbed to his injuries on February 7th, 2023.
Currently, Madiha lives in New York and enjoys her time with her two kids. After Tunnel to Towers supported her and her family, she felt relieved to know her children will have a shelter of their own that their father dreamed of.
NYPD Police Officer Adeed Fayaz is survived by his loving wife, Madiha, and his two children.
