Rep. Grace Meng Condemns Deadly Mosque Attack in Pakistan, Mourns Victims

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Grace Meng (D-NY) expressed deep sorrow following a deadly suicide bombing at a mosque in Islamabad, Pakistan, that left at least 31 people dead and nearly 200 others injured.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Rep. Meng condemned the attack and extended her condolences to the victims and their families. She said she was thinking of the Pakistani people and praying for the full recovery of those wounded in the blast.

“Nobody should have to live in fear while practicing their faith,” Meng said, emphasizing the need to stand against violence targeting religious communities.

The attack has drawn international condemnation and renewed concerns over the safety of worshippers and ongoing security challenges in the region.
