Friend –
Do you want to make a real difference in the future of your community? Are you passionate about the issues that affect your neighborhood? Community Boards are a place to get involved, and your perspective, your voice, and your ideas can help shape the future of our borough.
And the 2025 Community Board application is now open.
These boards are vital for local decision-making, weighing in on issues such as sanitation, transportation, housing, small businesses, parks, quality of life, and more in your neighborhood. I served for 7 years on a Community Board and saw firsthand the crucial role they play in shaping our borough.

And it’s an important time to join your board. We are facing a number of enormous challenges in Manhattan, from addressing our affordable housing crisis to fixing our broken mental health system and ensuring our communities are liveable for all.
Your service on the board will help shape how we tackle these challenges, as well as influence how our city and my office prioritize spending resources.
Additionally, budget season has begun, and my office is now accepting applications for capital funding in the FY26 budget. If you are a school principal, a non-profit, a cultural organization, or a city agency, apply for capital funding by February 20th.
This year, I’m excited to share that I will be adding HDFCs to the types of capital projects we will be prioritizing. HDFCs are an incredibly important form of home ownership for lower-income New Yorkers and often have extensive capital needs. My team and I are eager to help qualifying projects get access to funds so that they remain safe and in good repair.
You can help shape the future of our neighborhood and be a leader by collaborating with fellow residents to make positive contributions. Don’t miss this opportunity to serve your community!
Sincerely,
Mark

Now that the congestion pricing program is live, here are some of the most frequent questions my office is receiving. We’ve been working closely with the MTA to ensure a smooth transition and to provide residents with clear and accurate information about the new system. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact my office.

Building owners are legally required to provide heat to their tenants (illness because of the cold is real!), so if your heat goes out, here’s what to do:
File a 311 ticket and then follow up with BP Levine’s office at 212-531-1609 or info@manhattanbp.nyc.gov so that our team can contact the NYC Dept. of Housing and Preservation Development and your landlord.
If you’re a NYCHA resident, call the customer contact center (718-707-7771) or use the MyNYCHA app or webpage to file a ticket. Then, contact BP Levine’s office at 212-531-1609 or info@manhattanbp.nyc.gov so that our team can follow up with the NYCHA central staff.
