TODAY: FOLLOW UP HEARING ON ANTISEMITISM AT CUNY ON “THE LIPPMAN REPORT”

New York, NY — TODAY, November 25th at 10am in City Council Chambers, Councilwoman Inna Vernikov will join members of the New York City Council Higher Education Committee to question witnesses on the results of the Lippman Report, which revealed disturbing antisemitic activity across the CUNY system and a complete lack of oversight and accountability.

Two years ago, Councilwoman Inna Vernikov and the Higher Education Committee held an unprecedented hearing in the City Council that exposed rampant, unchecked antisemitism in the CUNY system. Due to their efforts exposing these systemic failures, Governor Hochul appointed the Hon. Judge Jonathan Lippman to investigate and produce a report with binding recommendations to combat antisemitic activity on CUNY campuses.

CUNY Presidents from Baruch College, City College, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, Brooklyn College, Hunter College, and Queens College were all invited by Councilmembers Vernikov and Yeger to attend in the hopes of signifying an important step towards implementing Judge Lippman’s binding recommendations.
