ISLAMABAD:-Today on the world human rights day the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) expresses its grave concern over gross human rights violations perpetrated by occupational forces in the disputed State of Jammu Kashmir. This was stated by JKLF chief spokesman Muhammad Rafiq Dar today during his speech in a “Kashmir Conference” organized by Human Rights Council (HRCP) of Pakistan in Islamabad.
The JKLF spokesman said that the people of the State have witnessed a long history of human rights violations since 1931 and especially, during and after 1947, when the subcontinent got divided. The imperialist powers didn’t stop here but continued with their expansionistic ideologies by subjugating a nation, older and richer in values, history and national ethos than any other in the region, he elaborated.
Citing the examples of extrajudicial killings, mass raps of women, damage and attachment of properties, wide spread arrests including that of top political leaders, political victimization of Yasin Malik etc. the spokesman in his speech recounted the situation of human rights in the State after the people challenged their occupation over three decades ago, and said that the reports of UNHRCO of 2018 and 2019 stand witness to it. While expressing his gratitude to the organizers (HRCP), Rafiq Dar appealed to the world powers and the world human rights institutions to intervene and help India end state terrorism in Kashmir and accept people’s right to freedom.
The JKLF spokesman reiterated his party’s commitment to continue the just, lawful and peaceful political struggle for right to national independence for which the people from both sides of the ceasefire line of Jammu Kashmir have rendered unprecedented sacrifices.
The spokesman informed the audience that JKLF UK Zone is holding a conference this afternoon GMT at committee Room Number 20 of UK parliament in London. The conference is expected to be well attended by nearly two dozen UK parliament members and other political as well as human rights representatives, he added. They will be discussing the issue of human rights violations in Jammu Kashmir especially the case of Yasin Malik and other political prisoners, he added.
Meanwhile JKLF spokesman on behalf of party leadership expressed his grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Dr. Ghulam Qadir Khan. Dr. Khan was father-in-law of USA based KGC convener and senior JKLF leader Altaf Qadri and elder brother of Canada based JKLF veteran leader Azad Muzaffar Khan. Dr. Khan passed away in Rawalpindi after a brief illness. Besides a large number of Kashmiri community including his friends and relatives, the JKLF leaders including Muhammad Rafiq Dar, Saleem Haroon, Sajid Siddiqi and Sardar M. Anwar Khan, and APHC leaders Sheikh Abdul Mateen and Hassan-Ul-Bana attended his janaza and funeral in Rawalpindi. The JKLF leaders while expressing their condolences to the deceased family prayed for Dr. Khan’s maghfirah and grant of his highest place in Jannah.
