NEW YORK : The Journalists and Writers Foundation (JWF) hosted its annual Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Conferences, bringing together youth leaders, women’s rights advocates, civil society representatives, and human rights defenders from across the globe.

The three-day international event, organized in partnership with the United Nations, focused on strengthening peace, justice, and sustainable development through inclusive dialogue and collaboration.

This year’s conference revolved around three key themes:
Global Youth Voices for Peace and Justice
The Role of Interfaith Dialogue for Sustainable Peace and Development
Digitalization of Sustainable Development and Human Rights Advocacy

Additional sessions explored critical issues such as women and youth leadership in civic engagement, cross-cutting threats to democracy, and the role of digital media in advancing human rights.
Human rights experts, journalists, and social innovators shared insights on how digital transformation, misinformation, and civic participation are shaping the future of human rights and democracy.

Kalsoom Kazmi a Human Rights Consultant who attended the conference, described the experience as “deeply enriching and inspiring,” highlighting the event’s emphasis on empowering youth and fostering global cooperation.

“Hearing from changemakers around the world about the future of human rights, women’s leadership, and democratic resilience was truly inspiring,” Kalsoom Kazmi said.

The conference featured prominent voices including JWF President Mehmet Kilic, and Cemre among others, whose leadership contributed to the success of the event.

Founded on the principles of dialogue, peace, and mutual understanding, the Journalists and Writers Foundation continues to serve as a global platform advancing the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and promoting human rights across all communities.
