Back to School Festival Brought Joy and Supplies to Brooklyn Students.

P.S. 105 The Blythebourne School was filled with excitement and community spirit on Wednesday, August 27th, 2025, as families gathered for the annual Back to School Festival powered by National Grid. The event, themed “Empowering Futures, One Backpack at a Time,” provided essential school supplies and fun activities for children and families.

From 11 AM to 3 PM, the school grounds at 1031 59th Street were buzzing with students, parents, and volunteers. Children received free backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and crayons, helping them gear up for a successful school year.

The festival also offered a wide variety of free food, games, prizes, music, and entertainment for the whole family. Attendees enjoyed treats like popcorn and hot dogs while participating in interactive activities.

This event was open to all elementary and middle school students and aimed to reduce the financial burden on families while creating a joyful back-to-school experience.

The festival was made possible thanks to the generous support of community organizations and sponsors, including NYC agencies, TrueCare, LiveOnNY, Healthfirst, New York Public Library, Fidelis Care, and the NY State Police, among others.

Organizers and attendees alike celebrated the festival as a great success, bringing the community together and helping students start the school year with confidence and excitement.
