The forum brought together candidates running in the general election for New York State Senate District 17 and State Assembly Districts 47 and 49. The event provided an opportunity for candidates to present their positions on important issues affecting New York City’s Asian community and to engage with voters ahead of the November general election.

Among the prominent participants was New York Attorney General candidate Saritha Kommareddy, a Republican, who also joined the forum to address issues and concerns relevant to the community.

The forum featured candidates from both major political parties and provided a platform for discussion of matters important to Brooklyn residents and the city’s Asian-American community. The gathering also allowed community members to become more familiar with the candidates competing for state and citywide offices.

According to the event information, Larry He, a candidate for State Senate District 17, and Joyce Xie, a candidate for State Assembly District 49, had also been invited to participate but declined the invitation.

The event was organized by the Asian Wave Alliance Political Club, which brought the candidates and members of the community together as the November elections approached. The forum served as an opportunity for voters to hear directly from participating candidates and learn more about their views on issues affecting their communities.

The candidates’ forum at the Greek School of Plato in Dyker Heights was part of the broader political activity taking place across Brooklyn ahead of the general election. Community members attended the gathering as candidates presented their positions and discussed issues of importance to voters.
