PM Shehbaz to visit Iran, Türkiye for high-level engagements

ISLAMABAD: Shehbaz Sharif will embark on official visits to Iran and Türkiye beginning Friday, according to an official statement.

The prime minister will first travel to Iran, where he is scheduled to hold meetings with the Iranian leadership and convey condolences on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan. He will be accompanied by Mohammad Ishaq Dar, members of the federal cabinet and senior government officials.

During the visit, Shehbaz Sharif is expected to reaffirm Pakistan’s solidarity with the brotherly nation and discuss matters of mutual interest with Iranian leaders.Following his engagements in Iran, the prime minister will travel to Istanbul at the invitation of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The two leaders are expected to review bilateral relations, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in trade, investment and regional peace and security.

During his stay in Istanbul, the prime minister will also address a business conference organized by Pakistan to highlight investment opportunities in special economic zones, energy, trade, information technology and privatization.

The conference is expected to bring together leading Turkish business figures, investors, senior government officials and representatives of the business community.According to the official statement, the visits underscore Pakistan’s longstanding historical, cultural and brotherly ties with both Iran and Türkiye.
